There are many family recipes in Ghana for making black soap, and the proportions of the ingredients are a secret. However, the list of ingredients is important: coconut oil, cocoa butter and, for the most part, shea butter. Palm kernel butter is also added in most places.
This is a soft, almost mouldable soap, which is why it must be wrapped in foil and placed in a box.
100% vegetable soap! Excellent for combination skin types, with a slightly drying effect. This is why we recommend it for acne-prone skin.
100% vegan/natural soap On the one hand, because the lye is provided by the ashes of various plants. (cocoa butter shells, coconut shells, banana leaves.) The oils are typically coconut, palm kernel, cocoa, and mostly shea butter. These are all ingredients that are specifically moisturising and increase the elasticity of the skin. The ash produces potash lye, which is the main ingredient in liquid and cream soaps. Potash lye colours the fats slightly brown. This is how it saponifies them. In this case, as the fats are already strongly beige and yellowish, this effect is intensified. All shades of brown and dark brown can be found in the soaps.
Do not leave it to soak in water for too long, as the soap bar may become soft!
USE: bathe with it every day. Many people use it specifically for facial cleansing.
